MEDINA COUNTY, OHIO – Medina County Treasurer John Burke has announced that 67,619 2nd half 2017 real estate tax bills were mailed last Friday, June 8, 2018 to property owners in Medina County. The official due date for these property tax bills is July 13, 2018.
“I want to remind property owners that we offer a variety of ways they can make their tax payments,” said Treasurer Burke. “In addition to paying with a check through the mail, more and more taxpayers are taking advantage of electronic checks, ACH, PayPal and credit cards.” Additional information about all of these payment options can be found on the Treasurer’s website at www.medinacountytreasurer.com. Credit card payments can be completed over the phone by calling 888.607.8389. “I also encourage homeowners to try our mobile connection,” Burke said. “It’s a safe and easy way to pay your taxes while on the go.”
Taxpayers who use PayPal may take advantage of a “bill me later” option with no payments and no interest if the full amount is paid within six months. “Some taxpayers use this option to avoid the penalties and interest charged for late payment,” Treasurer Burke commented.
Payments may be made in person at the Treasurer’s office in the Medina County Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway, Medina, from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. On the due date of July 13th, the office will be open until 6:00pm. Be sure to have your entire tax bill with you. Payments may be made with check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. A convenience fee will be assessed by the vendor.
Tax payments which are mailed MUST be postmarked no later than the July 13th due date to avoid a 5% penalty; payments made after July 24th will be assessed a 10% penalty.
