Medina County Treasurer John Burke has announced that 68,857 real estate tax bills for 2nd half 2018 are being mailed next week to property owners in Medina County. The official due date for these property tax bills is July 12, 2019. The total amount billed is $123,598,702.
Payments may be made in person at the Treasurer’s office in the Medina County Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway, Medina, from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. On the due date of Friday July 12th, the office will be open until 6:00pm. Be sure to have your entire tax bill with you. Payments may be made at the counter with check, cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. American Express is not accepted over the counter. A convenience fee of 2.5% on the payment amount will be assessed by the vendor for credit card payments. Credit card payments can also be made over the phone by calling 888.607.8389.
Tax payments which are mailed MUST be postmarked no later than the July 12th due date to avoid a 5% penalty; payments made after July 22nd will be assessed a 10% penalty.
In addition to paying in person or by mail, many taxpayers are taking advantage of on line payments. Electronic checks, ACH, PayPal and credit card payments can be completed on line through the Treasurer’s website at www.medincountytreasurer.com. Just click “Search and Pay Taxes” in the left column and then enter your address or name or parcel number to find your tax bill amount. “It’s a safe and easy way to pay your taxes,” said Treasurer Burke. There is a $1.50 vendor fee for a electronic check. PayPal and credit cards have a vendor fee of 2.5% on the payment amount.
Burke noted “For those who pay their bills on a smart phone, I encourage them to try our mobile connection. There is no app to download, just use the browser on your phone to go to our website www.medincountytreasurer.com. In three easy clicks you can look up a tax bill, payment history or make a payment.”
